Making of Museum Lab

Prior to its April Grand Opening, a group of ULI members & friends gathered for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Children’s Museum Pittsburgh’s NEW Museum Lab – 2018 Visionary Place Award winner. Museum Lab is part of the largest cultural campus for families in the United States and has been newly designed to feature unique experiences in art, tech, making, and learning for kids 10+. Museum Lab will also be home to 140 students enrolled in Manchester Academic Charter School (MACS). This exciting program & site tour allowed guests a sneak peek into the revitalization of the original 1890 structure of the historic Carnegie Free Library of Allegheny, with insights offered by Chris Cieslak – Project Director, Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, tour guide Christine Koebley – Finance Director, Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and Pete Jefferson, who led the well building discussion on behalf of Branch Pattern.
