Strip District Deconstructed

Wednesday, October 18, ULI hosted its fourth annual Educational Foodie Crawl featuring Pittsburgh’s Strip District.  Nearly 60 attendees gathered at Smallman Galley to start the tour of this vibrant neighborhood.  Attendees sampled food from each of Smallman Galley’s four vendors: Iron Born, Colonia, Banhmilicious, and Brunoise to encounter the true food hall experience that Smallman uniquely provides.

Next, the group walked to Pennsylvania Libations for whiskey samples, featured apple cider, and learn how the retailer connects Pennsylvania distillers and small businesses to consumers.  Finally, the evening ended at Bar Marco to sample their ever changing menu of signature drinks and appetizers in a historic Pittsburgh fire station.

Thanks to our speakers for making each stop and the Strip District come alive: Pamela Austin of McCaffery Interests (event sponsor), Andrew Heffner of Bar Marco, Mike Lee of Studios One, Christian Simmons of Pennsylvania Libations, Megan Stearman of Oxford Development, and Geoff Zak of Smallman Galley.

Special thanks to our Young Leaders Group and Event Champions for organizing this program: Jessica Brackin of RIDC of Southwestern PA, Sidney Sokoloff of Specialty Group, Christian Stoffan of Stiko Bruno, and Brandi Welsh of HFF.

Thanks again to Event Sponsor McCaffery Interests.
