Many thanks to those who came to 2018 TRENDS: Emerging Trends in Real Estate at the Fairmont Pittsburgh on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. Attendees filled the ballroom and were treated to breakfast and a keynote presentation from Global CEO of the Urban Land Institute, Patrick Phillips. Phillips conveyed an optimistic outlook for 2018. He emphasized that Pittsburgh has become a hub for robotics, educated millennials, and of course stressed the value of ULI membership and engagement of real estate leaders within our city.
Thank you to 2018 TRENDS panelists, Ray Gastil – Department of City Planning, Sean Luther – InnovatePGH, and Diamonte Walker – The Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh, for showcasing their unique areas of expertise – The 18 Hour City; Branding an Innovation District; and Talent, Equity, and Inclusiveness, respectively. The panelists highlighted the value of partnership between the private and public sectors, the importance in an innovation economy, risk taking, and the ubiquitous role that diversity and equity will play throughout.
Special thanks to Kristi Woolsey – MAYA Design, a BCG Company, who served as event moderator for the morning program. She emphasized Pittsburgh’s readiness for whatever and whomever is to come our way in 2018.
It was an exceptional year for ULI Pittsburgh and we hope to see you in the new year.
