WLI

In the Pittsburgh District Council, almost 30 percent of membership is made up of women. In December 2015, under the mentorship of Diana Reid, ULI Board Member, Trustee and Governor and led by WLI Vice Chair Lynn DeLorenzo of TARQUINCoRE, ULI Pittsburgh officially launched a local Women's Leadership Initiative. The WLI Steering Committee has determined to deliver content rich programming, promoting the inclusion of women in multi-disciplinary leadership roles across the City of Pittsburgh and throughout our region.

The Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) was established nationally in 2011 as part of the Urban Land Institute’s Robert C. Larson Leadership Initiative and has since carried out its mission to raise the visibility and number of women leaders in ULI and the real estate industry.

Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) kicked off the year-long “Advancing Leaders” series with a program and roundtable on NEGOTIATION in March.  Continuing the focus on leadership, May’s programming – COMMUNICATE – provided an opportunity to take a DiSC Assessment that included an evaluation  and discussion of leadership styles.

Alison Valli and Shirley Wulf of Dimensions Leadership Group  facilitated the afternoon long event that was held at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc.  Summer events continued leadership dialogue and discussions with notable senior leaders in the Pittsburgh region.  Late Fall concluded the Advancing Leadership series with a ‘Work of Leaders’ platform for mid-level and senior leaders on VISION, ALIGNMENT and EXECUTION.  Please check the ULI website for the upcoming events!

In 2018, WLI will continue our popular “A Conversation With” series along with valuable leadership enhancing programming.
