WLI

In the Pittsburgh District Council, almost 30 percent of membership is made up of women. In December 2015, under the mentorship of Diana Reid, ULI Board Member, Trustee and Governor and led by WLI Vice Chair Lynn DeLorenzo of TARQUINCoRE, ULI Pittsburgh will officially launch a local Women's Leadership Initiative. The WLI Steering Committee has determined to deliver content rich programming, promoting the inclusion of women in multi-disciplinary leadership roles across the City of Pittsburgh and throughout our region.

The Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) was established nationally in 2011 as part of the Urban Land Institute’s Robert C. Larson Leadership Initiative and has since carried out its mission to raise the visibility and number of women leaders in ULI and the real estate industry.
2016-11-17-15-52-14As ULI Pittsburgh’s Women’s Leadership Initiative celebrated its one-year anniversary in December 2016, what better way to celebrate than with November 17th’s “DIFFERENCE MAKERS” reception in collaboration with the National League of Cities – 2016 City Summit.  Welcoming mayors, city officials and leaders from around the country, 130 guests gathered from over 20 states to celebrate women in leadership at the Omni William Penn’s historic Terrace Room. The reception featured a showcase of significant projects both new and historically relevant through organizations like Reed Smith, Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation, Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and ULI Pittsburgh’s own celebrated Placemakers and Awards for Excellence winners 2013-2016.
