    Brandon Mendoza

    Director of Public & Government Affairs, Master Builders Association Inc. - Pittsburgh

    Brandon Mendoza leads Public Affairs and Government Affairs for the Master Builders’ Association, the voice of construction in Western Pennsylvania. The combination of MBA services, its administration of CAP programs and national affiliation with the Associated General Contractors of America, assures architects, construction users and developers that MBA contractors provide the best value for the construction dollar. Brandon was previously Executive Director of NAIOP Pittsburgh, the local chapter of the national association that represents the interests of developers and owners of industrial, office, mixed-use and related commercial real estate. He has extensive knowledge about land use policy, advocacy, nonprofit fundraising, and PAC fundraising. Brandon has raised millions of dollars in his career. He was named NAIOP Corporate Executive Director of the Year in 2020. Brandon Mendoza was named to the Pittsburgh Power 100 list by the Pittsburgh Business Times in 2022 and 2023. He was also named to the Power 100 by City & State. Mendoza also served as Government Affairs Manager for the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce, the advocacy affiliate of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development. He led the chamber's federal and local government affairs strategies. In addition to his advocacy role, Mendoza directed the chamber's legislative events, and raised nearly $1 million in sponsorships in his tenure, while also growing the events' reputation in the community. Mendoza also brings a strong economic development track record to the position, having led the chamber's advocacy efforts to build the incentive package for Shell Chemical's multibillion petrochemical investment in Beaver County. In addition to his work on economic investment, he has an extensive history on transportation and immigration policy. Mendoza received his Master of Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public & International Affairs (GSPIA), and his B.S. from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh's Leadership Development Initiative XXI, and in 2017, he was selected by The Incline as one of 18 rising political leaders shaping Pittsburgh's tomorrow. Brandon sits on the boards for Partner4Work and the Graduate School of Public & International Affairs (GSPIA) at the University of Pittsburgh. Brandon and his wife Jacinta reside in the north hills with their two young sons, Miguel and Isaiah.

    Joshua Pollard

    Managing Partner, President & CEO, Omicelo

    Joshua is the founder and CEO of Omicelo, a mission-driven private equity firm. Before founding Omicelo, Joshua led Goldman Sachs’ housing research efforts through the Great Recession from 2009 to 2013. Joshua spent the previous five years as a critical member of Goldman Sachs’ universal research team covering the real estate, alternative energy, and industrial sectors. While at Goldman Sachs, Joshua led the $1 billion IPO of Anywhere Real Estate and received numerous awards including being named to Forbes Magazine’s inaugural 30 under 30 list. Between his time at Goldman Sachs and founding Omicelo, Joshua was responsible for a $100 million portfolio of real estate securities at Pine River Capital Management. Joshua contributes to Forbes on real estate, healthcare, and wealth building.

    Andrew Nelson

    Economist / Advisor / Author / Speaker, Nelson Economics

    I am a writer and an independent consultant advising leaders in the real estate sector. My goal at Nelson Economics is to provide clear, actionable insights and advice for decision-makers developing strategy or facing tough business choices. Since 2021 I have served as lead writer for the U.S. edition of "Emerging Trends in Real Estate," published annually by ULI and PwC. I am also a contributing writer for Seeking Alpha and Propmodo, and publish articles on various topics on Medium. I also comment on issues on LinkedIn and Twitter, and am a frequent guest speaker at industry and private events. I served as Chief U.S. Economist for Colliers International for almost five years, where I led the national research team and supervised the content of the firm’s national market reports and white papers. Prior to Colliers, I spent eight years at Deutsche Asset Management (RREEF), most recently as Director, Research & Strategy in the Americas, where I managed the U.S. Research team and was the retail sector and sustainability specialist. I’ve also held a variety of other leadership positions in both the public and private sectors including Vice President of HOK Advance Strategies, where I served as national practice leader of the Portfolio Services service line; managed a construction-lending program for the World Bank in Russia; held a two-year “Community Builder” fellowship with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; and managed the regional real estate consulting practice at Deloitte & Touche in San Francisco.
